Registration will be done via Google Forms (link at bottom of email) and Registration Fee is due on day of tryouts.
Please pay special attention to the CONSENT section, which will require the acknowledgment of a parent or guardian, and the question on whether the MOQ team will be your child’s PRIMARY or SECONDARY team.
Tryouts/Team Selection: • Tryouts will be held on October 24th and 25th. There will only be one tryout session per grade/gender. • Once the number of registrants has been determined, tryout times will be determined by October 20th, and will be communicated out on the Athletic Committee website (www.moqsports.com) as well as via email. • All registered players are placed on a team. There are no cuts. • Tryouts are conducted by Varsity level high school coaches, who will grade each player’s ability. The players will be assigned to teams based on these grades. (Note: To comply with PAL guidelines, 4th grade teams are split evenly by ability using the tryout grade.) • No spectators are allowed in the gym during tryouts. • If a player is absent from the tryouts or doesn’t designate MOQ as the PRIMARY team, the basketball committee reserves the right to place that player on the team that it believes is appropriate regardless of tryout scores.
Costs/Registering: • The registration fee for the year is $75 and is non-refundable once teams have been posted. • Deadline is October 19th, late registrations will incur a $25 fee • PLEASE REGISTER BY THIS DATE. LATE REGISTRATIONS CREATE TEAM PLACEMENT AND PLAYING TIME PROBLEMS.

Violating this rule may result in a loss of playing time. • A lost or damaged uniform will result in a $100 replacement cost. • Uniforms from last season can be worn again this year or returned at the tryouts. We will distribute Uniforms to those that need them later in November. • Coaches will set practice times within the guidelines of the program. Excessive absences from practices will impact a player’s playing time and participation with the team. • Other relevant policies can be found in the “Approved Policies Regarding Parish Sports Programs” document, which can be found on the MOQ Athletics website (www.moqsports.com). • ALL Coaches and Assistant Coaches must be Safe Environment Certified AND CURRENT.
